CST-FG Gear Flow meter

A gear flow meter is a positive displacement flow sensor designed for measuring the volume of liquids with high accuracy. The device in the picture is a flanged type gear flow meter with an integrated transmitter and electrical connector.

Advantage

High Accuracy – Provides precise measurement, typically ±0.1 … 0.5% of reading.
Handles High Viscosity Liquids – Works well with thick fluids such as oils, lubricants, paints, and resins.
Wide Range of Flow – Can measure both very low and high flow rates.
Independent of Flow Profile – Does not require long straight pipe runs before or after the meter.
Good Repeatability – Excellent for batching and dosing applications.
Rugged Design – Suitable for high-pressure and harsh industrial environments.
Direct Volume Measurement – Measures actual displaced volume rather than inferred values.
Flexible Outputs – Available with pulse, analog (4–20 mA), or digital (RS485 Modbus) signals for easy integration.
Compact Size – Can be installed in systems with limited space.
Low Maintenance – Simple design with long service life if used with clean fluids.

Features

Measuring Principle: Positive displacement with two precision gears.
High Accuracy: Typically ±0.1 … 0.5% of reading.
Excellent Repeatability: Up to ±0.02%.
Wide Flow Range: From a few ml/min up to hundreds of L/min (depending on model).
Viscosity Range: Works effectively with low to very high viscosity liquids (1 … 1,000,000 cP).
Pressure Rating: Designed for high-pressure applications, up to 400bar.
Temperature Range: Standard version -40 °C to +120 °C; high temperature version up to +200 °C.
Output Options:
Pulse (NPN/PNP)
Analog (4–20 mA, 0–10 V)
Digital communication (RS485 / Modbus RTU)
Compact and Rugged Design: Stainless steel body with flange or threaded connections.
Installation Flexibility: Not affected by flow profile, can be mounted in limited space.
Self-Lubricating: The liquid itself lubricates the gears, ensuring durability.
Application Versatility: Suitable for hydraulic oil, fuel, lubricants, adhesives, paints, resins, and other chemicals.

Applications
